Today, a 20 something man told me he doesn't think mean and women can be friends. If he thought his girlfriend was thinking of breaking up with him then he might say, "Let's just be friends." hoping that he might get another chance with her later. But in general, unless he's attracted to a woman he has no desire to be friends with her.
